Early childhood Appropriate Environment

In a developmentally appropriate, well organized environment, kids grow and learn. The instructor is responsible for creating a pleasing environment that demonstrates the needs and interests of the children. The classroom should be designed to promote self-help and impartial behavior.

Well planned space is arranged to meet the needs with the children in their classroom. The Key of DAP suggests the teacher should think about what is known regarding child development, learning, specific children, and social/cultural contexts when designing a classroom. Many pieces of environmental surroundings can influence how a child feels in the classroom. The text Preparing and Giving Early The child years Programs declares that " aspects such as color of them, type of lamps, sound may impact how successful a kid is in an environment” (The Core of DAP). Hues can be picked based on the light already obtainable in the class. Lightly pigmented pastels by intense emphasize colors work efficiently in sessions with natural sunlight (Decker, 2009). " Red is a good choice pertaining to areas designed for low motor activities and principle development activities; yellow is good for music and art actions; and green, blue, and purple are effective in reading areas” (Decker, 2009, pp. 126-127).

Natural lighting should prevail in the classroom and other lighting must be as close to natural as it can be. " Some lighting will be direct and some will be indirect, fixtures will be mounted at various levels, and job lighting is going to illuminate workspaces where adults and children need to see details well, such as when reading and writing. Mainly because lighting must be tailored to meet children's certain needs, dimmers are good additions to the lamps plan” (Decker, 2009, p. 127).
